What's the difference between a keyword search and a topic search at the iSeries Network? A keyword search (offered in Search Option #1) searches the entire text of each article for occurrences of the keyword. The topic search (offered in Search Option #2) brings up a list of articles that have been assigned a particular topic by a human editor. Keyword searches may bring up some results not necessarily relevant (i.e., just because a word occurs in an article does not mean the entire article is about that subject). Topic searches will always be relevant to that subject because a person manually assigns topics to articles. |
